Q1:I have a dial up connection to the Internet. Can I use Tele-Cam?
A:No, Tele-Cam requires a high speed Internet connection to operate. The host requires the bandwidth from DSL, Cable or Wi-Fi to properly send the signal to the client.

Q2:Does Tele-Cam really deliver smoother, higher quality video over the Internet?
Our eyes perceive full motion video at 22 frames per second - anything slower and the video appears jerky as we detect missing frame captures. Tele-Cam's proprietary video compression algorithm delivers between 23-25 video frames per second. As a result, Tele-Cam's video stream appears smooth and continuous.

Q3:Should I be concerned about security and privacy issues?
Attention to privacy and security has been incorporated within Tele-Cam. The video stream and audio has been secured using 128-bit SSL encryption. This is the same security standard used by online banking sites.

Q4:Can two Tele-Cam clients watch video from the same host at the same time?
No, the video stream from the host to the client is a secure peer-to-peer feed similar to popular music sharing programs such as Kazaa and Morpheus.

Q5:Can we use Tele-Cam for video conferencing?
Yes, assuming that both parties have a separate copy of Tele-Cam. Both the host module and the client module can run on the same computer. Both parties would have to log on to their counterpart's respective servers.

Q6:Can you remotely switch the camcorder from camera mode to VCR mode?
No, human intervention is needed to switch from one mode to the other. Unfortunately most camcorders have a mechanical switch for selecting from one mode or the other. Furthermore, human intervention is also needed to load the tape into the camcorder VCR.

Q7:Can I record live with Tele-Cam?
Yes, Tele-Cam allows you to record the signal stream to your hard drive in addition to the camcorder VCR. One hour of video will occupy less than 47 MB of hard drive space. Tele-Cam's just-in-time recording functionality allows you to manually start and stop the record function, but you cannot preset recording times. You may also take a snapshot photo of the signal (saved as a bitmap file).

Q8:My ISP provides me with a dynamic IP address that changes every time I boot my computer. Can I still use Tele-Cam?
Yes, the Tele-Cam host is in regular communication with our registration server and provides it with its IP address. All you need to remember is your account id, password and access code. The registration server handles the rest.

Q9:What can I do if the Host or Client cannot connect the Server?
This may occur by these situation:

  • Check your Internet connection first, make sure all your Internet connection of Host side and Client side are working normally.
  • The connection strings were lost from your system's registry.
  • The Ips of our connection servers are changed.
  • Download the Connection Fix Tools to retrieval the connection string for your registry.

Q10:Why do we need the access code?
There are some reasons why the software provides the access code option.

  • The product's account id and password are stored into our registration server, but the access code does not stored into our registration server; therefore, none can access your product (software) without the correct access code, even the administrator of the registration server.
  • You can create up to 4 difference access codes with difference access right; therefore you can control the access of the person who knows your access code.

Q11:Can I install Tele-Cam on both PC and Macintosh operating systems?
At this time, Tele-Cam is available to PC users only.

Q12:What type of resolution can I expect with Tele-Cam?
The resolution depends upon your Internet connection speed. At only 100 kbps, you'll receive 320x240 video at 23 frames per second. Expect near DVD quality over 500 kbps with resolution as high as 640x480.

Q13:Does Tele-Cam actually generate a video stream in real time?
Tele-Cam streams the video to the client as close to real time as can be achieved over the Internet. There is a slight delay of approximately seven seconds for both the video stream to arrive to the client and the camcorder commands to be executed.
